This page will introduce you to our church, but the best way to get to know us is to come and visit us on Sunday. We hope you will visit and we look forward to getting to know you.
We are a community that desires to know and enjoy God and the world he created by trusting in his Son, Jesus Christ, for a life of forgiveness and blessing. As our name implies, we also desire to get to know and enjoy people and encourage each other as we follow Jesus together. Each week we gather in worship service and in small groups to honor God, listen to his living Word, and pray. In whatever space we occupy, here in Columbia or around the world in missions projects, we want to bring the life-giving, transforming presence and message of Jesus, who loves us and gave himself for us.
Worship Time
Our worship service begins at 10:00. Many of us gather at 9:30 for coffee and connection. When you visit, we hope you will fill out a visitor’s card so we can get to know you better.
Worship Style and Dress
Our worship is contemporary and dress varies, ranging from business casual to very casual.
Children
When you arrive you will meet greeters who can help you find the nursery or visit the Kid Zone. Your children of all ages will attend the opening praise and worship with you and then will be dismissed. Children ages 0-2 will go to the nursery, and K3-5th grades will go to the Learning Center, where they will enjoy a curriculum with substance that is participative and fun.
History
Fellowship Bible Church was founded in 1983 by several couples who began praying for a church where the Word of God was taught with depth and insight and where small groups gathered weekly in homes to encourage one another to worship, grow spiritually, serve, and reach out. The heart of FBC has always been in small groups. The church met in recreation centers and schools until, in 1990, it built the main building of the current campus. In 1999, the annex added a meeting area for youth, more classrooms, and a library. You can learn about our church leadership here.
Mission
To partner with God in transforming people into the likeness of Jesus Christ.
Core values
There’s a lot more to say about the values which guide us but we can summarize them by focusing upon three key relationships: We value our relationship with God, our relationship with one another and our relationship with the world.
